Hello,

i connected the wire that my previous thermostat had to the Google nest and I’m getting a error 77 message. Asking me to connect the heater pump, require wire Y1 to be connected. However I do not have a heater pump. Only baseboard heater.

any suggestions?

Post a picture of the original thermostat's wiring and one of how you wired the Nest

Looking at the original thermostat's wiring, I'm not sure it's compatible. What is the manufacturer and model number of that thermostat? Can you provide a better picture of the label?

What are you controlling? A/C, Furnace, Heat Pump, Boiler?

Your current wiring of the nest won't work.

Hey Denis,

Sorry for the delay here and thanks for the photos.

Since you don't have a heat pump, there shouldn't be a wire on the OB terminal. Could you transfer the black wire to the C terminal instead as on the old thermostat labels, one is labeled as C.

Keep us posted.

Also, thanks for your help here, Patrick.

Good morning Patrick.
looks like it works. Fantastic. Thank you very much sir really appreciated your help.
so I guess in the future for the other nest that I will install (baseboard), I have to follow the same connections I assume?

Hey Denis,

No biggie and we're glad to hear you've got it working as it should. And to answer your question above, yes, you just need to wire the other Nest thermostat as what you've done here.

Feel free to reach out again should you have further questions.

Cheers,

Melba
