Nest with dual fuel and time of use pricing?

hi - I'm a moderately satisfied Ecobee3 owner, with one gripe that I'm wondering if Nest is able to address: can you set up a Nest thermostat so that it will use auxiliary (gas furnace) heat during peak electric hours?

I have a high efficiency dual fuel system (heat pump primary, natural gas furnace backup), and I also have time-of-use electricity pricing.  I would like to program the thermostat to (automatically) not run the heat pump during peak hours, but instead, to run the gas furnace then if heat is needed, regardless of outdoor air temperature.  The rest of the time (not peak hours) it should use the outside temperature to decide (use gas if below 40F or whatever).

My eco bee is pretty nice but it won't do this and it drives me bonkers. A few years ago I ran a raspberry pi thermostat that I built for a while, and have thought about dusting that off and updating it for dual fuel but I feel better using a commercial product to run things since all the hardware is new and not cheap.

The Nest thermostat can only control auxiliary heat by using the outdoor temperature via sensor or internet. You have a good idea though. Maybe submit it to Google....or build your own and get rich!!!
