Nest won't connect

My Nest had a communication issue with my E link... So I restarted. I now have no Thermostat showing in Google Home and whenever I try to set up I get an error and basically a continue set up on phone message on the stat... Any suggestions:-(

I don't know what you mean by "My Nest had a communication issue with my E link" and I don't know what you "restarted".

But if your Nest Thermostat E is not appearing in the Google Home app, you cannot set it up in the Google Home app. When it is installed in the Google Nest app it should AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app.

However, recently numerous customers in this forum have been reporting that this is not happening.

Some customers have discovered they had not put the thermostat in a "room" in the Google Nest app, and once they did that, it appeared in the Google Home app.

Many other customers in this forum have had success with this: in the Google Nest app, they create a temporary second Google Nest "home/structure", then they go to that Google Nest "home/structure" in the Google Home app and delete that empty temporary home. This action apparently forces the 2 apps to sync and the thermostat then appears in the Google Home app.

  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  • What's the exact message are you getting?
  • Is this your first time setting up your thermostat?
  • Can the device find or detect other networks?
