New Nest Thermostat installation in Europe

Servet1

Hi everybody!

I was wondering if anybody in the community uses the new Google Thermostat in Europe.

I purchased it when I was in US without making a detailed research and when I tried to install it I realized that it doesn't have a power adapter and not suitable for the European Voltage.

Can anybody help me if there's a way to install this thermostat using another way!

Best Regards!

Hi @NewNestUser , thank you for your question.

The short answer would be no. The US and EU models are different in how they function. The US model connects directly to low voltage while the EU one is a 2 part system, where the Heat Link connects to the system using high voltage.

In some rare cases you may find systems in the EU that are compatible with low voltage but those are rare as generally you would see high voltage ones.

You could check with a Nest Pro installer in your area, if any are available. They can check if there is any way to connect it to your system. But generally the US model is not compatible with EU heating systems.

Hi, I'm still looking for a solution. Couldn't fix the issue yet. There's no pro nest installer in the zone!

Understood. Thanks for letting me know. For now, I'll close this thread in that case. Should anything else come up,  please open another thread. Have a good one and stay safe!
