New Nest won’t connect to App via Bluetooth

Hello,  I just got two brand new Nest Thermostat. The Home App seeks to connect to the thermostat via Bluetooth but doesn’t find it. So I cannot add this device to my Google Home App. I tried with both to no avail so it’s unlikely a hardware issue. I have an iPhone 11 with the latest OS,  I already have a 1st Gen Nest on my home network that I had to migrate to the new Google Home App. I tried to follow all the recommended fixes like Bluetooth on/off, phone on/off, check batteries on device, remove all other Bluetooth devices. Any other ideas? (By the way, very very disappointed by Google on this).

I’m having the exact same issue. Haven’t been able to find any answers!! Very frustrating.

So I called Google support and he had me completely get out of the app and start over….it worked after that. 🤷‍♀️ Don’t know why but it did.
