New nest thermostat

I had my nest thermostat paired with my phone. I then tried to connect with my husband‘s iPad, which didn’t work. Now I am trying to repair it with my phone and my phone does not recognize it. The thermostat does say that it is connected to the appropriate Wi-Fi.

Nest Thermostat (2020), Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen)

1. On the thermostat, go to Settings > Account > Disconnect.
2. Follow the setup steps: Get started with your Nest Thermostat - Google Nest Help

Nest Thermostat E, Nest Learning Thermostat (1st, 2nd, 3rd gen)

1. On the thermostat, go to Settings > Reset > Account connection. If you don't see this option, you'll need to select All settings.

I have the same problem and have disconnected and set up the system 3 times now. Also rebooted phone and server.  This is the second Google Nest 4th gen that I am settting up on the system. The one in the basement is working as expected. The main floor thermostat is not.
