Newest thermostat (1.4) incompatible with temperature sensors

Just wanting to say how disappointed I am that the latest thermostat won’t work with temperature sensors. We had hoped to put a sensor in a nursery but I found to my dismay that sensors only work with older thermostats. I should have done more research before going to the work of setting it up, trouble shooting for weeks, and finally getting the power adapter to work.

Just shouting into the void, maybe google will change some of their packaging so other poor  souls won’t make my same mistake (it’s too late for me to return it).

thanks for coming to my Ted talk

Hi Bonkdoom,

Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry for any confusion this may have caused you. I understand how it should be convenient to add a Nest Temperature Sensor to your kids room to monitor the temperature. Unfortunately, the sensor is only compatible with the Nest Learning Thermostat and the Nest Thermostat E.

We appreciate your thoughts on this feature, and please be assured that our team is working non-stop to bring the best features to the Nest Thermostats. So, please let our product team know about it by sending feedback, and let us know if there’s anything else I can help you with. Otherwise, this thread will be locked within 24 hours.

Regards,

Mark
