Perpetual Low Battery

Thermostat is functional, was installed by a professional about 12 months ago. Now Low Battery is displayed, changed batteries with new batteries and tested them prior. Have reinserted and also replaced.  C wire in place as this a heat pump system.  Is Nest really turning into the junk it appears to be?

Hello Pops101,

I understand your frustration with the Nest Thermostat displaying the "Low Battery" message despite having replaced the batteries with new ones. I appreciate that you've already checked the C wire and ensured its proper connection, especially in a heat pump system where it plays a crucial role.

If the low battery message persists despite these efforts, there might be other factors at play. It could be worthwhile to check if there are any wiring reports or message codes that could tell us about potential issues. Gather the power readouts in the Equipment settings. Also, make sure to replace it with AAA 1.5 V alkaline batteries, such as the Energizer AAA 1.5 V Alkaline Battery.

Keep us posted.

Best,
Mark
