I am a very disappointed customer. I work every single day in and out in customer service for a very large company like yourself. My thermostat for no reason suddenly stopped connecting to the WIFI. I did every single troubleshooting task noted online and with a Nest representative on the phone and nothing will allow it to contact. After waiting on the phone and putting me on hold to discuss a solution with his peers the customer service rep came back and said you have 2 options.
Either A. You keep the existing thermostat that will not allow you to use the upgraded features connected to your phone (the main reason we purchased the darn thing to begin with) and just use it like a normal none upgraded thermostat (again spent the money to purchase the Nest for all the upgraded features and removed the basic one already existing our home)
or B. You can go purchase a new one at a distributor locally at regular price no discount or credit towards a new one. Basically cough up another $500 for a new one sorry yours is broken.
I am extremely disappointed in the outcome. Not even a credit towards a new. Come on this was an expensive investment to make and not exactly sure if I want to purchase a new one at $500 to have the same problem just shy of the warranty again it breaks. Not sure I will ever want to purchase a product again from Google if this is how they stand behind their products.
