Had a problem with my Nest Thermostat not finding any WiFi networks.
I resolved by replacing the usb cable.
Before replacement the Vusb registered 4.73V. Nothing would persuade my thermostat to connect to WiFi.
After replacement the Vusb registered between 4.99V and 5.01V. WiFi found easily.
Would seem that over time the USB cable has become more resistive and lowered the voltage delivered to the Thermostat.
Not sure if you will need to let the battery charge. Mine was at 3.931V both before and after.

Hi nbchris,
Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. I know it's been a while already — I'm sorry for the delay. I appreciate you sharing your experience. I know that this will help other Community members.
If your Nest Thermostat's battery level is above 3.7 V, you don't have to charge your thermostat manually. As long as the wires connected to it are delivering sufficient power to your thermostat, it will let your thermostat work all the time.
Best,
Jenelyn

Great troubleshooting! It's interesting how a simple USB cable replacement made a significant difference in voltage and resolved the WiFi connectivity issue service. Thanks for sharing your experience—it might help others facing a similar problem with their Nest Thermostat.
