Raeburn 1220NC to Google Nest Compatibility issue?

Zudryx

I checked the compatibility online, and it says a Google Nest was compatible with my system, but when I order and go to set it up, the Google Home app states it's not compatible.... Maybe I misunderstood the wiring selections when checking on the website for compatibility.

I have the Raeburn 1220NC -150-03 thermostat current. This was installed when the house was built.

I do have a conventional electric system with a heat pump that also has emergency heat.

The wires are connected as in line:

Rh (RED), jumper to RC, Y1 (YELLOW), G (GREEN), W1/E (WHITE), W2 (BROWN), O (ORANGE), B (no wire connected), C (BLUE).

Is the Nest Thermostat actually compatible or not?

Hello Zudryx,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community!

It appears that you're having some trouble with the compatibility of your Google Nest thermostat and your existing thermostat. Based on the information you've provided about your current wiring setup, it looks like your thermostat has the following connections:

  • Rh (red, jumper to RC)
  • Y1 (yellow)
  • G (green)
  • W1/E (white)
  • W2 (brown)
  • O (orange)
  • B (no wire connected)
  • C (blue)

While the wires you have listed are commonly found in HVAC systems, it's crucial to ensure compatibility with the Nest Thermostat. The Google Home app might be flagging it as incompatible due to some specific requirements or configurations.

To double-check, can you share with us a photo of your current thermostat's wiring setup? Just to have a visual guide so we can determine how we should label it. Also, is your system a heat pump?

I'll look forward to your response.

Best regards,
Mark
