Reading temperature high

Our Nest thermostat Gen3 worked great for about 13 months and then began to reading our indoor temp. at up to 87 degrees, when it was only 65 degrees indoors. Went through the total process with Nest support and they ended up sending a replacement - which is doing the exact same thing. And this is after install all new wiring in case that was the issue. We love our Nest and would like to be able to continue using it, but I have read a number of other people having the same/similar issue. Are there any known issues that would explain this? Any suggestions please!

Hi @pixiemom,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd gen is reading the temperature high, but there's no need to worry; I'm happy to help you right now.

To get a better understanding of the situation, please help me out by answering the following questions:

  • When was the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd gen installed?
  • Where did you install your thermostat?
  • What type of HVAC system do you have?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps? If so, can you list them?
  • Can you please send a picture of the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd gen wiring?

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Regards,

Gabriela
