Does anyone know how to set up a nest thermostat for a non-owner occupied rental property. I would like to set the minimum maximum temperatures and the schedule and use the tenant phone numbers to trigger the away feature. But I do not want the tenant to control the temperature settings. Is this possible. Thanks for your help.

Hi cmonzi,
Thanks for posting.
You can manually turn the dial on the Nest Thermostat to control the temperature. If you want to set the maximum and minimum temperatures, you will need access to the controls on the Home app.

Hello there,
I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.
Thanks for helping, Mel.
@cmonzi, Another option would be setting up a lock on the thermostat. Anyone can turn the thermostat's ring to change the temperature within the range you've set, but they won't be able to set the temperature outside of your range or change any of your settings. But this only applies to the Nest Learning Thermostat and the Nest Thermostat E.
Please have a look at this article and let us know if you need more help.

Mark
