Hey Swaggy_Beat,

We appreciate you reaching out again. Let’s check what’s going on. Just a few questions: What's the make and model of your HVAC system? Can you verify the labels of the terminal where the red, blue, orange, and yellow wires are connected? And have you selected the wires Y,OB,C,G, W, and R on the app when you try to see if it's compatible?

I look forward to your response,

Thanks,
Edmond

Where can I find the make and model? On the unit itself or the control panel?

Hi there.

Usually you can find the brand of your HVAC on the unit itself and model no. is on a yellow or white sticker that is either on side or back of the unit.

Let me know if that helps.

Best,
Edmond

I think I found it on the unit in my attic but I can’t attach a picture to this reply.

Hi there,

Thanks for sending the photo of your unit. Looking at the photo that you sent, we can’t clearly see the model number or the make and model of your unit. Can you please send another picture showing the model number and the brand? Or just tell us the model number and the brand of the unit based on the sticker.

I look forward to your response.

Thanks,
Edmond

Sorry for the bad image. The brand is “international comfort products” and the model number is

WAPL304A3

Hello Swaggy_Beat,

Thanks for the information. Based on the photos of the wires from your current thermostat and the model number, this is a heat pump system. This should be compatible with any Nest Learning Thermostat.

The correct wiring configuration for that in a Nest thermostat is the following:

Yellow wire on Y1
Red wire on RC or RH
Blue wire on C
Green wire on G
Orange wire on O/B
White wire on W1

Check out this link for Nest thermostat compatibility. Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks,
Edmond

Edmond, I will try that configuration but how do I get past the incompatibility error message on the app when setting up?

Hi there,

That sounds like a plan. To get past the incompatibility error message, make sure you select the wires Y/Y1, G,C,O,B, W/W1, and R when you get to the prompt that asks what the wires are on your current thermostat.

Let me know if that works.

Best,
Edmond

Edmond,

I will try that and respond. Hopefully this works.
