Replacing NT Learning (3rd gen) when Power Connector installed

Hi,  I have a replacement NT 3G coming in the mail.  Original unit wouldn't hold a battery charge despite having the Power Connector installed.  Can I just plug in and setup a new unit with the Power Connector installed or do I have to remove it from the furnace first, do the setup and then reattach it?

Hey there yes,

Thanks for writing into us, I understand your concern and am happy to help.

I would remove the old one first as the new one may come with all new Power Connectors as well.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Best regards,

There was no new Power Connector in the box with the replacement display.  In all honesty, I have no idea if the 3rd Gen Learning product even recognizes that accessory?  Best I can tell, it simply changes the charging cycle from when the furnace is on to instead charging when it is off?  Anyway, I replaced the display with the PC still connected and it seemed to work OK.  It took some extra steps to figure out how to get it all recognized and on line again but I got there in the end.
