I can’t get my phone app to connect properly to my nest thermostat. I’ve tried to reset it change my password change my email. I need to do a hard stop I guess and reset it but I can’t figure out how to do it.

There’s a factory reset option in the setting menu on the actual thermostat itself. Or you can delete it from your phone and re-add it.
