Ridiculous issues (c-wire, app & sensing when I'm home)

I'm having a couple different issues getting this thermostat working as expected.

First, I keep getting messages about not getting enough power randomly. I have the extra $25 c-wire adapter hooked up correctly and the thermostat shows it is detecting the adapter. So why do I keep getting this message?

Second, the nest app tells me I need to add the thermostat through Google home. I did that. The thermostat still doesn't appear in the nest app. When I try to add it I just get a message to download Google home even though I already have Google home with the nest thermostat added in there.

Third, I have it set up so that on weekday between 6am and 3pm it's eco because that's when we're typically at work/school. From 3pm to 11pm it's comfort. Between 11pm-6am is sleep. I have tried multiple times to have it automatically stay on comfort during the weekdays if I'm home. It doesn't, it goes to eco. So then I change it to comfort in the Google home app. If I leave my house though then it knows I'm gone and drops to eco. When I arrive home it doesn't go back on comfort. I have added my phone to the what decides if I'm home screen in the nest app but since the nest app won't let me add the thermostat I don't think that does anything. I added it in the Google home app in presence sensing and every day it tells me that I'm using the feature on a different phone and I hit to switch to this phone. I don't have another phone that I could possibly by using the features on!

I bought this thing specifically so that when I'm home I wouldn't have to mess with the thermostat and put the schedule on hold like I did with my 10 year old digital Honeywell. Right now this is actually working worse then the old one. Can someone help me or do I just need to go back to the old one and get my money back and the money that I had to spend to have it hooked up and then what I'll have to pay to have my old one put back?

This is absolutely ridiculous to have this many issues setting up a thermostat that cost as much as this.

Hi Kmalsteen,

Thank you for reaching out and I am sorry to hear about what's happening.

Let's further help you with your concern. You can manage and control your notifications by following the guides here. Since you're using a Nest Thermostat (the new one), it can be managed and set up using the Google Home app and it will no longer be visible on the Nest app.

Also, you could check and reset the temperature schedule as this can be the reason why it automatically does the temperature changes.

I hope it helps.

Best regards,

Ryan
