When I scan after adding the Nest Sensor, as the instructions state, it says waiting for the thermostat to update soon.  And it hasn't updated, yet, or ever when I look at the history.  The thermostat is a 4.8.

Sorry to hear that you're running into some difficulties setting up your Nest Temperature and also for the delayed response. 

 

Just to confirm, what type of Nest thermostat do you have? If you're unsure, please refer to this guide: https://bit.ly/3noGw7F

 

If this is a Nest Thermostat E or any of our Nest Learning Thermostats, I suggest that you try the following suggestions below:

  1. Make sure your phone’s Bluetooth is turned on.
  2. Move your sensor to a different location and try to connect it again. Your sensor should be within 50 feet (15 meters) of your thermostat, but it may need to be closer.
  3. The connection range can be reduced by wireless interference from walls, cabinets and bookshelves.
