Setting up an existing Nest thermostat wifi with new router

We have a new router and I can't get my Nest thermostat connected. I've tried following the directions for my Google Home app, but the favorite icon(heart) doesn't show up on my Home app. I'm stuck and can't figure out how to enter the info for the new router through my Home app.

Hello folks,

I'm sorry to hear you're all having issues reconnecting your Nest thermostats to your new Wi-Fi router. Let's sort this out.

For the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:

  1. Try resetting the network settings of your thermostat.
  2. Push your thermostat and choose Settings > Reset > Network. Then, try to connect it again to your Wi-Fi network.
  3. If the Network option is not available, select Account Connection.
    1. This will completely remove it from the account and disconnect from the previous network connected.
  4. Reconnect it again in the network settings, and the new Wi-Fi network should appear.
  5. Proceed by adding it again in the Nest app.

For the Nest Thermostat 2020 model:

  1. Perform a factory reset on the actual thermostat itself.
  2. Remove the thermostat device icon in the Google Home app and proceed with adding it again as a new device to the new Wi-Fi network.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Mark
