“ we are having trouble connecting to assisting device”
then won’t let me do anything.
I just set up the other one in the other side of the house. No issues

So this sometimes happens, according to other users the way to fix this is actually remove the first device from your home, then set up the second device, then resetup the first device. Can you give that a try?
