Switching between schedule and constant temp

PaulShryer

I have a Nest Learning, 2nd Gen Thermostat hooked up to my boiler.  As the boiler takes a while to heat up the house I can't use home/away so I have a schedule set in the app. This works most of the time, except when it gets really cold (around 0F or lower). When it gets that cold, it's all my boiler can do to keep up, so following the schedule means that my home doesn't get much warmer than the coldest temperature in the schedule. I've been dealing with this by deleting the schedule when it gets cold and just having a constant temp, which works, but when the outside temp goes back up I have to re-enter the schedule.  Is there any way to suspend the schedule (for days at a time) without deleting it each time?

Hey there,

I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. I found an article with more details on temperature schedules. Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Best regards,
Jake

Jake,

Thanks for the reply. That article is just for setting and changing the schedule. It's got nothing about holding a temperature or overriding the schedule.

I still do not have an answer for this issue. Luckily for me the temperature has been mild for the last few weeks. We've only had one night with a below zero (F) temp and it warmed back up above zero the next day. But we are approaching the coldest part of the year, so I'm really hoping for a solution in the next few weeks.

Hello PaulShryer,

I know it has been a while, but I wanted to ensure that everything is covered here. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Regards,
Mark

I eventually found a solution by trial and error. I set the Eco temp to the temperature I wanted to hold at and then switched Eco mode on. It worked well enough.
