Takeout always fails

I have NEVER gotten a successful "Takeout" of nest data. I tried it last May when I got the nest thermostats, and I just tried it again; same thing.

After about 2 days, i get an email stating:

From: Google Takeout <#>
Date: Sun, Sep 24, 2023 at 9:30 AM
Subject: We couldn’t create a copy of your Google data
Something went wrong and we couldn’t create a copy of your Google data. You can try to create a new export....

 

I have two Nest (i think they're called 2nd gen) thermostats; they are NOT the learning ones.

[and in case anyone is wondering, that model cannot use the nest app]

I also now have a Nest wired camera, but did not last year when it also failed. (and if i just select only camera; that works fine)

I tried a few combinations of the dozen or more "types". Anything i've tried results in a failure (after a couple of days).

by the way, takeout works if i restrict it to camera only.

Hello EdPhx,

Thanks for letting us know about the Google Takeout file exporting failure. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

If you try to export many files, you will sometimes get the message. You need to check the size of the files you're exporting and make sure your file size meets Google Takeout requirements to avoid this issue. Another possible issue is when a network connection issue occurs while exporting. Also, try using an incognito tab and attempting to export your data in Google Takeout.
