Thermostat Dead

We moved here 7 days ago and the Nest has worked fine until last night.  It now turns off.  The only way I can get it turned back on is plug in my cord and recharge.  Once on the cable charger for about 5 minutes it has a message to plug into the base.  Once plugged in to the base the message changes in less than 5 minutes to shutting down to recharge.  It is in a loop with these two messages.

What, how and where?

Charge it with the USB cable for a few hours.

Do you have a pic of the wires connected to the base so we can see if you have a C wire connected.
