Thermostat Wiring

I have an older house (120 years old), and attempting to switch over to a smart thermostat.  The house is large, 4000 sq. feet.  The main floor and upper floor each have their own ac unit.  The house is heated with a brand new boiler controller and original pipes/system.  There is an air handler that helps circulate and move air.

On the main floor, I have a separate bundle of thermostat wires that consists of a red wire and a whitish-grey wire.  There is a second bundle of thermostat wires that consists of a red, blue, green, and white wire.  I can get the heat to work correctly, along with getting the fan to kick on and circulate air.  However, I can not get it to kick on the AC unit.

I can post a picture later this evening if needed.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

Hi gleemax83,

Thanks for posting here in Community forum, and I'm sorry for the late response. I'd like to take a look at this for you.

Please help us with the type of Nest Thermostat you have, a photo of the thermostat wires connected to it, and a photo of your system's control panel where the other end of the wires are connected.

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe
