My thermostat is off and not connecting to my app. How do I reboot the system?

Hello everyone,

I'm dropping by to see how I can help.

Thanks for sharing the article, @David_K.

@Lc5, how's it going? Have you managed to reconnect your Nest Thermostat back to the app? If you haven't yet, going over these steps might help.

For the Nest Learning Thermostat and the Nest Thermostat E:

  1. Remove the thermostat display from its base.
  2. Charge the thermostat display for an hour via micro USB.
  3. Ensure that all wires are properly inserted and the tabs are pushed down.
  4. Go to Settings > Reset > Account Connection > Reset to confirm.
    1. This will remove your thermostat from the existing account and Wi-Fi network.
  5. Reconnect the thermostat to your WiFi network manually in the network settings.
  6. Once connected, go to the Nest app in the settings and proceed by adding it to the Nest app.

For the Nest Thermostat 2020 model:

  1. Perform a factory data reset to bring it back to its default settings.
  2. Open the Google Home app and proceed by adding it as a new product.

Let us know if that helps.

Regards,
Mark
