Thermostat and boiler

Lolohelperphone

I have a problem. I used to live in a country without the need of a boiler. Boiler and heating is totally new to me. In my home,!I have a Google nest and a boiler with a cylinder (so I suppose it is a system boiler)

if I am away for holiday, I want to keep ECO mode for most of the time but heat up my home regularly, what temperature should I set with the boiler?!currently it is the minimum temperature 25degree. It doesn’t look like the home is heated up. What should I do in order to have occasional heating when I select manually.

Hi Lolohelperphone,

Thanks for reaching out. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? Also, in what country are you located?

Best,

Jenelyn

Hi Jenelyn_D

thanks for your reply. I am using Baxi Megaflos System 18 and I currently live in the UK.

Thank you for the information. If you have a heating setting on the boiler itself for temperature that is most likely for the flow temperature. That is the temperature of the water inside of the radiators. The higher that temperature, the faster the location will heat.

So imagine if you set your flow temperature to 60 degrees, it will pump 60 degree water to the radiator where it will hit the room until the temperature on the thermostat is reached, let's say 23. As you can imagine the higher that flow temperature is the faster the room will heat but I don't have a recommendation for that setting as that will depend on the boiler and the rest of the system at the location. It would be best to check with the boiler manufacturer or an installer.

Hi there, just checking in! Have you seen the message from my colleague?
