Thermostat battery keeps losing power

I had my thermostat for three months, it worked with no issues

In the past couple of days the thermostat go blank with a blinking red light

I have to take the front of the thermostat off and charge the unit

It charge works for awhile then dies and has to be charged again

I checked all the wires

I am concerned

It seems like an issue with the battery but the unit is new

I went to settings, I can see the battery is low

I'm having the same issue. I had to get mine replaced a year ago because of bad firmware by Google. It has worked flawless until now. I think there was just a nest update pushed by Google. If you have to replace your thermostat Everytime they decide to update, well I'll just say that's not "smart".
