Hi Buzzer,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry that your Nest Thermostat E isn't connecting to your Heat Link. I understand how frustrating this must be. Let's work together to find a solution.

To assist you, please answer the following questions:

  • What is the color of your Heat Link's light?

  • How is the Heat Link being powered when you're trying to pair it? A USB cable won't provide enough power to be paired with the display. Installers must use high-voltage cables in the live and neutral terminals of the Heat Link.

  • Did you try to take the Heat Link out of Manual Mode? If not, you can do so by pressing the Heat Link’s button once. When you see the two green lights underneath the button turn off, the Heat Link is out of Manual Mode.

  • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

  • When was the thermostat installed?

  • In what order did the installer set up the device?

  • Was the display paired with the Heat Link when they were close to each other and then moved to the usage location, or was it paired with the Heat Link from its usage location?

  • What is the distance between the Heat Link and Nest thermostat? Are the Heat Link and display on the same floor? (The maximum distance for a wireless connection between the Heat Link and display is 30 m.)

  • What error message are you receiving when trying to connect?

Please keep me posted. I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Byron
