I have 2 thermostats, one upstairs and one downstairs. We generally set the downstairs to be 70 or 71 degrees F in the colder months. The upstairs one we set lower or leave off because we realize heat rises. Generally it stays about 66 upstairs with the thermostat off. This morning however, upstairs was off and downstairs was set at 71. It was 72 downstairs and 81 upstairs. It’s 35 outside. I have turned both off, and the temperature downstairs is now 75 and up is 88. It doesn’t appear either are on, as they both display off, but why is it so hot in my house. Just got them for Christmas,
and a brand new HVAC system installed about 3 weeks ago, and no previous issues with either the new unit or the new thermostats.
many suggestions?

Hi Melissa3,
Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry for the delay.
It's unusual for a heater to be on even if the thermostat is off. Could you try to remove the Nest Thermostat and check if your HVAC activates? This way, we can further isolate the issue. It's also possible that your thermostat is on idle mode and the display is just off unless you walk near it or press it.
Let me know how it goes by replying to this thread.
Best regards,
Ryan
