Thermostat issue

Why can’t I talk to someone on the phone! My nest thermostat is saying it’s not connected to WiFi and shutting down due to low battery.

i had the same issue at first, there is a usb connection on the back of the face plate to charge it, they recommended i charge for it 1 hour before proceeding. i still have issues but can't actually speak on the phone with anyone because there is a case number.
