Thermostat stuck in a restarting loop

My Nest Thermostat is stuck in a loop of constant restarting.  It says that the time and date are incorrect and then it goes back into restarting.  It does not give me enough time to access the menu and settings.

Have basic Nest thermostat. Locked in "continue setup in Google Home app. Lost power and when I tried to restart, it said cannot connect to wifi. Reset router and that changed the pin number. Now I don't know what to do to restart thermostat. Can't get Google Home app to reach thermostat. Took batteries out and reinstalled but no luck with that.

Hey all,

Apoloiges for the late reply. I wanted to follow up and ensure you are good to go. Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Best regards,
Jake

Nothing was resolved from Nest on my end. I received the it is out of warranty nothing we can do about it. It was really frustrating because they said it was broken, but the device clearly wasn’t broken it was just trying to update there own software! I asked if they can debug the problem with me having it sent in to them. Nope.

Really wasn’t happy with the support I received from them, a lot of the responses were scripted. We’re talking about Google here, how can they not figure out what went wrong.

Same here. Restarts in loop. For a few sec I see notification wrong time and date. Fir a second turns on heating and goes into restart.

I am having this same exact issue right now. How did you fix it?

I am having this issue, any ideas?

My unit had never been able to “see” my WiFi, but I didn’t follow up on that until the restart loop problem arrived. I finally called google nest people and they were awesome on the phone. Very patient. They had me remove the device and manually charge it, there’s a port on the back of the unit.  After several restarts, when it still couldn’t find my WiFi’s, it was deemed defective and they replaced it.
