You need to take a picture of the wiring of your current thermostat. You will see colored wires connected to lettered terminals. Basic terminals are
R, G, Y, W, and sometimes B.
advanced systems will have
Rc, Rh, R, Y1, Y2, W1, W2/AUX, O, B, OB, C
Make a Note of what color wire is attached which labeled terminal.
