Hello Georgebob,

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're facing with your Nest Thermostats in your second home, especially in the snowy conditions. It must be frustrating to deal with the increased heating bills and energy waste.

To address this issue, are you at the location? Here are a few steps you can consider:

  1. Ensure that the thermostats are receiving power and are properly connected to your HVAC system. Sometimes, a simple power cycle or reconnection can resolve issues.
  2. Verify that the thermostats are connected to your home's Wi-Fi network. A stable internet connection is crucial for the proper functioning of smart devices like Nest thermostats.
  3. Check for any wiring reports or message codes that could be a potential cause for power-related issues.

In the meantime, consider manually adjusting the temperature or turning off the thermostats when the property is unoccupied to prevent unnecessary heating costs. If the issues persist, consider having a professional HVAC technician inspect your heating system. There might be an underlying problem that's affecting the thermostats' performance.

I hope these suggestions help you resolve the issues with your Nest Thermostats and bring your heating bills back under control. Stay warm!

Best regards,
Mark
