Trouble connecting nest after battery replacement

Hi - I changed the battery of my nest after the device said the battery was low.  Now that new batteries are in, the app (from my phone) is requesting that I insert the 4-digit pin displayed on the home screen of a nearby device.  I don't how how to find this and restarting the Nest did not work.

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry for the late response.

 

It appears that your Nest Thermostat won't hold the charge. To isolate:

 

  • Could you tell me the wiring configurations on your Nest Thermostat?
  • Is there a wiring report or error message on your thermostat and/or app?
  • What brand and specs of batteries did you replace?
  • Has there been any recent work done on your thermostat or heating system?
