Turn the Nest thermostat ON or OFF at a set date and time

Hi, I have a vacation rental home with a Nest thermostat. When the house is not rented out, the thermostat is set to OFF (only maintaining safety temperatures) in order to save energy. Currently, I have reminders in my calendar to tell me when to turn the thermostat ON whenever renters are coming in using the Nest app (the home is a 1 hour drive from where I live). I have to do this on time, because it has floor heating, so it takes 6 or 7 hours to reach the proper temperature. Then, when the renters leave, I turn it back OFF in the app. Is there any way to automate this? For example, could I use the Google Assistant to turn the thermostat ON or OFF at particular times/dates? This would be super useful and save me a lot of hassle. Note that the regular Nest scheduler is useless in this respect because it does not have a calendar for specific dates/times, and it does not have an option to turn the Nest ON or OFF entirely.

Hey JohannesFahrenf,

Thanks for reaching out and I understand how you feel about the schedule feature of our Nest thermostats.

If you have a Google Home speaker or display, you might want to try and explore Routines. You have an option there to schedule some controls of your smart devices. Take a look at this link for more information: https://bit.ly/3AgK8P7

Thanks for your responses. Yes I have many queries left. I looked at routines, but I did not see any option to schedule a one time event at a particular day. Also, I could not find an option to turn a Nest thermostat OFF or ON (rather than changing the temperature) through routines. These are the two core features I'm looking for as outlined in my original post. Did I overlook something?
