Thermostats networked

Faraj

Currently my house has only one traditional thermostat connected with wires to the heating system. I like to add additional thermostats (NEST) but there is no wire connections in the rooms I want to install Nest Thermostats.

Is there a way I can wirelessly connect multiple Nests into one which connects to the heating system control?

Hello Faraj,
Technically possible is almost everything...
The question I have is WHY?
All the Nest thermostats you have installed would send their own signals to the heating system.
Apart from that, you would have to run a separate cable from the main board to your heating system for each thermostat.
Let's imagine that the cables are installed and you start your thermostats. Thermostat 1 in the Master Bedroom asks for 68 F, but Thermostat 2 in the Living Room asks for 72 F. Thermostat 3 in the Bathroom wants 74 F and Thermostat 4 in the Guest Bedroom is set to 65 F because no one is visiting at the moment.
Probably thermostat 3 will win and keep the heating on until the 74 F is reached. All other thermostats do not give a signal that the desired temperature has already been reached. And this scenario is just in heating mode.
I don't want to imagine what your Main Unit will do if you set your thermostats to heat and cool....
1 Unit, 1 thermostat, it won't work any other way.
I suggest you play a little with the vents and either force more or less warm or cold air into a room.
Additionally, get a Nest Temperature Sensor to place in the coolest or warmest room and control your thermostat from there.
All other ideas with multiple thermostats work only in theory.
The Community can correct me if i'm wrong.

Thanks for the response.

I have no current NEST. I have wiring for only one thermostat on my first floor.

What I am wondering is this: Can I replace my existing traditional Thermostat with one central Nest and then place other nests around the house which wirelessly connects to the central Nest?

Hey folks,

Thanks for taking the time to respond to this Jarhead.

@Faraj, thanks for posting and welcome to the Google Nest Community. I suggest that you install a Nest thermostat and Nest Temperature Sensors instead. Take a look at this link to know more information about it: https://bit.ly/3gjOjTP
