Unable to connect to Wifi and reset did NOT work

TLALEX
Community Member

I have a home with 10 nest thermostats (Model 3.7).  Some of them will connect to the wifi and some will not.  I have tried to reset the few that do not and still same issues.  I have learned from my neighbours that tthey also had defective ones which resulted them sending the bad ones back to get replacements.  These are 5 new houses that were built together so same batch for all Nest would have most likely been used.  I understand that if I provide the serial numbers you can check to verify they are defective.  Please let me know how I should provide this.

Hi folks,

Thanks for chiming in, @SeriouslyWhy

@TLALEX, uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that your thermostat is not connecting to Wi-Fi even after resetting the thermostat. Have you tried to reach out to our customer support team already? If not yet, let me check on this for you.

  1. Are you located in North America or Europe?
  2. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  3. How many Nest devices are offline?
  4. Does it show offline in the Nest or Google Home app or indicated on the Nest device?
  5. Are other non-Nest devices in the home offline?
  6. Can the device find or detect other networks?
  7. Has there been any recent change in the home Wi-Fi network?
  8. Is the Wi-Fi router or access point within a reasonable range (1 to 15 meters) of between three to fifty feet from the Nest devices?

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe
