I have had to replace a faulty learning thermostat with a new one. I cannot get it to connect to the existing heat link. I’ve tried everything, the thermostat is next to the heat link and I’ve also inputted the pairing code but it will not connect. Help…

Hi @sleepingdog @Charlie234 ,

Thank you so much for reaching out! Can you please try these steps:

Turn off the WiFi router.

1. Reset the Heat Link by keeping the button on it pressed for 30 seconds until the LED goes slowly pulsing blue.
2. Take the thermostat off the base and give it a restart, off the base by holding the display and the back of the thermostat pressed for 10-12 seconds. (Hamburger reset)
3. While the thermostat is restarting, do not put it back on the base yet, but instead, reset the Heat Link again just like before.
4. After the Heat Link is reset, put the thermostat back on the base when it asks you to do so on the screen.
5. Go to: Replace Heat Link (underneath the H71 error code) and enter the 6 character entry key from the Heat Link, but do not connect just yet.
6. Restart the Heat Link twice (1 restart is a 10 seconds press, until the LED goes off once).
7. Press connect on the display.

Hi there, just checking in with you. Did you manage to check the above steps?

I’m afraid none of those steps work. I have wired the thermostat to the heat link for the moment until I get a replacement heat link fitted. Thanks

You can try to take the cover off the Heat Link and enter the key from inside the Heat Link.

I have already tried that several times

Could you please access Settings > Tech info > Power on the display and let me know the Battery, VIN and VUSB values?

Battery 3.854v

Vusb 0.02v -it is currently wired to heat link

Vin11.16v

That would be the readings expected when connected using a wired connection. You can try and go to Settings> Equipment> Heat Link and see if you can establish the wireless connection while also connected over the wired connection using the Replace Heat Link option.
