It appears IMHO that the app was designed to best serve google, not the user.
When I open the app I want to know the temperature in the house. I do not need or want to know what the temperature is set at. I want to know the current temperature. This house is infrequently used, there is nothing to I want nest to learn. If i plan on visiting the house, I turn up the thermostat and turn it down when I’m away. This is NOT to much trouble for me, gives ME control (humans like control) and removes profit incentives from google. I did not intentionally choose nest, it came with new furnace.
Again, I want to remotely see temperature and set temperature, nothing else, how do I turn off all the unwanted ‘features’?

It would seem a helpful upgrade to be able to choose what is shown from three options; either temperature, target or temperature/target. Hope they add it.
