Verizon 5G and Nest thermostat

My Nest thermostat doesn’t stay connected with my Verizon 5G WIFI. Is there something I can do to maintain the connection?

Thanks for reaching out — I'm sorry for the delay, and to hear that your Nest Thermostat won't stay connected to your Wi-Fi network.

 

Let's sort this out:

 

  • How far is your Nest Thermostat from the router?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near your thermostat? Those devices could interfere with the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signal.
  • If your Wi-Fi router is dual-band (supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz signals), your Nest Thermostat may connect to one band better than it connects to the other band, depending on your surroundings. Could you please confirm which channel it was connected to?
