Want to replace an icomfort wifi thermostat with a nest learning option.

Attached is the wiring of my current Lennox icomfort wifi thermostat.  I know that the i+ and i- wires are specific to the Lennox system, but the capability that these connections provides, does not have to be used.  The system can be used without them.

I am guessing that I need an expert(?)

Or, is this something that I can do myself?

Hello iDIScomfort,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum.

The Nest Thermostat will not work with that system; I- I+ are communication wires that won't talk to a nest. This might be tricky as it may not work, but you might need to entirely bypass the installation process, or I'd suggest contacting any HVAC installer to ensure its configuration.

Regards,
Mark

Thanks!!  I ended up calling my HVAC company to replace with an newer, improved Lennox thermostat (one that handles the communication).  My system is 9 years old, so the tech said it would be under warranty.  I hope he's right; waiting for him to return with the new one.
