I wanted to a new Nest Thermostat at my mom's, so I took a picture of her wiring setup on her existing thermostat: G, RH, RC, Y, W. The online checker then asked if there was a jumper between the two R wires, which there was. The end result: compatible.
I then purchased the thermostat and began the install. Within the Google Home app, there is another compatibility checker and I figured what the heck. I told it again what wires I had, but this time it didn't ask if there was a jumper between the two R wires. The end result: incompatible.
I had to get on chat with Google to confirm that it was, in fact, compatible. Suggestion: update Google Home to work like the online compatibility checker so it's accurate.

Post a picture of your current thermostat's wiring here.
