Based on the information, your system is compatible with all generations of Nest Learning Thermostats. Usually, the E wire goes into the star (*) terminal and the W2 wire into the Aux W2 terminal. - What type of HVAC system do you have (conventional or heat pump system)?
- Do you have auxiliary heat or emergency heat on your HVAC system?
