Wire hook up

I have written down my old wires and where they are hooked up. I cannot find any article that asks what color wires you have and where to hook up the wires to the new nest thermostat.

Watch the following on youtube and you will get all the info you will  need.

It helped with learning which wires and what they are used for. I have 5 wires. 1.white wire connected to aux. Yellow hooked to y. Green hooked to g. Blue hooked to o. Red hooked to r. Now where does the blue wire go on the nest thermostat? Also does the white wire go on the w on the nest thermostat? Thanks for your help and if you or someone could answer the 2 questions. Again thanks.

If after watching that you can’t figure it out, just drop me a line describing where each wire is connected on your current thermostat and I will provide you with the mappings.

Ok cool, you have a heat pump setup. Do the following:

white to W2 Aux

yellow to Y1

green to G

blue to OB

red to either Rc or Rh, it does not matter.

Okay I tried hooking it up like this. I hooked the white to w. Yellow to y. Green to g. Blue to OB. Red to r. The heat pump came on outside, but the inside unit did not come on. By the way I live in a trailor and I live in Georgia if that helps. When the Honeywell thermostat was hooked up the inside and outside units both worked when the heat or cool air was on. I am not sure if it was right but it was like that when I bought the trailor brand new. Thanks for your help. If I can’t get this right I might have to call a pro. Thanks again for your help

This might be a heat pump balance setting. Check in the your nest thermostat setting.

This won’t work. Don’t have a heat pump setting on the thermostat. Thanks anyways. Guess I will hire a pro.

Do you have any additional information?

What is your exact Nest model, is it the Nest 2020, the one with the mirrored faceplate?

It is just a plain nest thermostat. It is pinkish color.

Ok thanks for confirming. Could you please take a pic of the wire plate and upload to this thread?

Thanks for all your help. I had to have a professional hook it up because it was driving me crazy. Thanks anyways.

Ok great it all worked out.

@laurentbourgbased on your response, should my white one here (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Thermostats/Wiring-Question-Nest-Thermostat/m-p/215368#M...) be in the w2?

And does the O/B look correct?

( I have 6 wires)
