I recently had to remove my Nest learning thermostat to fix surrounding drywall. I took a photo of the wiring scheme so I could replicate when reinstalling. I reinstalled with yellow wire on terminal Y1, green wire on G terminal, red wire on terminal Rc, white wire on terminal W1, and blue wire on terminal C. When I plug back the thermostat it showed a screen that said my wiring had changed. Next screen showed equipment detected with a wiring diagram with a wire on the OB terminal. What could I have done wrong??

Hey santacruz1966,
Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry for the delay.
It is normal for your thermostat to show a message like that since you've removed all the wires from it. You could go to settings > equipment > select the right heat type and source. You could do a test here for your equipment too.
Also, have you noticed any strange behavior to your HVAC unit when you see the message from the thermostat?
Let us know by replying to this thread.
Best regards,
Ryan
