 Is my AC compatible with Nest Thermostat?

Your thermostat's wiring appears to be Nest Thermostat compatible. To ensure its compatibility, could you confirm the A terminal's purpose? Is this an HVAC accessory such as a humidifier or dehumifier? Also, what's the make and model of your system?

• Wiring picture was taken from Trane Thermostat
• black wire seems to be used for Economizer/TOD

Hi Bandidazo,

The Nest Thermostat will not handle the function if the economizer controls dampers or outdoor air exchange, as it doesn't support this feature. With the normal connections, it is feasible to modify the present wiring setup to accommodate the thermostat, but I would suggest calling an HVAC professional or an installer to confirm the wiring configuration.
