Heat Pump not staying on to heat up the home? Here is the original wiring diagram. Wiring configuration for Nest Thermo - heat pump runs but no heat? When I look at the wiring attachment on the program it states no W white wire attached even though it is. What does the white wire do?

Hi jls7332,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • How is your Nest Thermostat wired?
  • When did the issue start?
  • Are you getting any message?

You can also click on this link for some troubleshooting steps you could try.

Thanks,

Edward

All 6 wires are attached to their respective posts. The problem is that the white wire doesn't show connected on the nest app / google app. It doesn't show emergency heat either as an option under 'equipment'. I would think the white wire was for the emergency heat option.

My wiring does look a little ragged so I'm going to recut them and retry it.

I'll let you know...thanks for your timely response.
