Wiring for nest

I'm checking to see if anyone has a color wiring conversion table and wondering since this device has AA batteries do it run on just those or does it also run on the house?

It gets 24V power from the thermostat wires R and C common.

How many wires do you have now on the existing thermostat can you show us a picture?

And what kind of system do you have?

Heat with ducts and AC, or hot water heating with radiators/baseboards etc.
