Wiring help

pjfink

Looking for some help.  I'm trying to hook up my 3rd Generation Google Nest thermostat and keep getting a message to find a certified NEST thermostat installer from my app.  I'm attaching a photo of my wiring and the model of my outdoor unit.  We just recently moved into our house.  I believe my unit is a heat pump by the model number of my outdoor unit.  Any help is appreciated.20220523_125137.jpg20220705_122603.jpg20220523_125133.jpg

Hey pjfink,

Sorry for the delay but thanks for reaching out and for the photos.

Based on the wires of your current thermostat, you have a dual fuel system. Sometimes, this is also called a hybrid or packaged system which is a combination of a heat pump for primary heating and cooling, and a furnace (usually gas or oil) that provides a second and/or third stage of heating.

While the Nest thermostat is compatible with this system, you will need to have a trained professional set up your thermostat. It’s important for a professional to assess the requirements for your specific dual fuel configuration since choosing incorrect options for a dual fuel system can result in damage to your system. We highly recommend that you contact a local pro.
