Hello

I have a thermostat that has cables

R, C, 1 and 2

Is my nest compatible with this thermostat? What would I need to do to make it compatible?

@CoolingWizard

Thanks

I am not sure exactly. I would need the manufacturer and model number of your current thermostat.  When I see R C 1 2, I see it as a digital thermostat and the 1 and 2 are the data communications line.  The R and C provide power to the thermostat.  It might help to think of the thermostat as a small computer. It needs power and communications with the HVAC equipment.

This is a thermostat manufactured by White Rogers for Emerson environmental. When you look at the thermostat cable in the wall, how many conductor wires are in the cable? What is the make and model of the air handler and the outdoor unit?
